Female Founders Conference: Women in
Healthcare and Venture Capital

King's Entrepreneurs, female founders event was a significant step towards recognizing and celebrating
the contributions of women in entrepreneurship and innovation. It also highlighted the importance of
diversity in leadership, which has led to a surge in women-led start-ups and increased funding for
women in the industry. The industry event was designed to bring together inspiring speakers who have
made significant strides in their respective fields, with the aim of informing attendees and highlighting
the important role that women play in the industry. The event was divided into two separate panel
discussions, with the first one focusing on women in healthcare, and the second one on women in
venture capital.

The Women in Healthcare panel began with a brief introduction from the organizers, highlighting the
importance of women's voices in the healthcare industry. The panel discussion featured renowned
healthcare experts including, Dr. Namrata Rastogi, Tanya Yankova and Dr. Ishani Patel.  During the panel
discussion, speakers shared their experiences as women in healthcare entrepreneurship, discussing the
challenges they faced and the strategies they used to overcome them. They emphasized the importance
of building a strong network, seeking out mentors and allies, and developing a clear value proposition to
attract investors.

One of the key themes of the discussion was the need for more women investors in the healthcare
industry. Women-led start-ups are often overlooked by male-dominated venture capital firms, which can
make it difficult for them to secure funding. However, as more women enter the field of venture capital
and bring their own experiences and perspectives to the table, there is hope that this trend will begin to
shift.

Another topic that was discussed was the importance of diversity in healthcare leadership. Women,
people of colour, and members of other underrepresented groups bring unique perspectives and insights
to the table, which can lead to more innovative and effective solutions to healthcare challenges. By
promoting diversity and inclusivity in healthcare entrepreneurship, we can help ensure that the industry is
better equipped to meet the needs of all patients.

Overall, Each panelist brought a unique perspective to the discussion, providing attendees with a
comprehensive understanding of the current state of the healthcare industry. They shared their valuable
insights and experiences, enabling attendees to gain a better understanding of the industry. Attendees
also had the opportunity to ask questions and engage with the panellists directly, making the event both
informative and interactive. The Women in Healthcare event was a resounding success, celebrating the
role of women within the start-up space and healthcare innovation.
